Refund & Return Policy

No returns on groceries

For hygiene and food safety, food items can't be returned once shipped.

Cancel before dispatch

Orders can be cancelled any time before they're packed and shipped.

Refunds for genuine issues

Damaged, expired, missing, or undelivered items are eligible for a refund.

At BanglaLocal, every order is packed fresh and dispatched with care. Because we deal in food and grocery items, our refund and return policy is built around hygiene, food safety, and getting genuine issues resolved quickly and fairly. 1Returns on Grocery Items

As we sell food and grocery products, we are unable to accept returns once an order has been shipped. This is standard practice for consumable goods - for reasons of hygiene, food safety, and quality, items that have left our facility cannot be taken back or resold.

We appreciate your understanding. This is exactly what lets us guarantee that every product reaching you is fresh, sealed, and untampered.

2Cancelling an Order

You can cancel your order at any time before it has been packed and shipped. To cancel, message us on WhatsApp at +91-9818894190 (or email shop@banglalocal.com) with your order number as early as possible, and we'll stop it from being dispatched.

Once an order has been packed and handed over for shipping, it can no longer be cancelled.

3When You're Eligible for a Refund

We want you to be happy with what arrives. You are eligible for a refund if your order is:

  • Damaged - the product or its packaging arrived damaged in transit.
  • Expired - the product received is past, or unreasonably close to, its expiry / best-before date.
  • Not delivered - your order was marked delivered but did not reach you, or did not arrive within the expected delivery time.
  • Missing an item - one or more products from your order are missing. Just let us know on WhatsApp, and we'll initiate a refund for the missing item(s).

Outside of these situations, grocery items are not eligible for refund or return once shipped.

4How to Raise a Refund Request

So we can sort out your issue at the earliest, please raise it on WhatsApp - ideally within 48 hours of delivery for damaged or expired products.

WhatsApp us at +91-9818894190 with your order number and any of the following:

  • A clear photo of the product, and / or
  • A photo of the packaging, and / or
  • A video of the unboxing (especially helpful for damaged or missing items).

These photos and the unboxing video let us verify the issue quickly and resolve it for you without any back-and-forth.

5How Refunds Are Processed

Once we receive your request and confirm the issue, we'll approve your refund and process it to your original payment method via Razorpay. Refunds are typically completed within 5–7 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider.

Where it's the better fix for you - for example, a damaged item - we may instead offer a replacement, whichever you prefer.
